Everyone Out - a not for profit social enterprise.
Everyone Out Limited was founded by Rachel Prier in 2016 with a mission to connect tamariki and their whānau with Wellington’s stunning natural spaces. Since then, Rachel and her husband James have hosted events across the Wellington region, in places like the Otari-Wilton’s Bush, Mount Victoria, Queen Elizabeth Park, and many more. Their goal is to inspire families to get outdoors and enjoy the beauty of our green spaces together.
In October 2018, Everyone Out launched its first holiday programme in Crofton Downs, offering tamariki the chance to experience nature play. The programme quickly gained popularity, with positive feedback from both parents and children.
Building on this success, Rachel expanded in January 2020 by hiring experienced kaiako and opening the Everyone Out Nature School in Crofton Downs. As the business grew, a second location was established in Island Bay in 2021, offering both holiday programmes and nature school sessions.
Everyone Out also supports schools with their Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) programs, hosting school groups at our locations to engage in outdoor learning experiences.
Everyone Out remains committed to fostering a love of the outdoors, helping tamariki build confidence, curiosity, and a lasting connection with nature.
Rachel - Founder and Programme Manager
Rachel is an adventurous mum to three tamariki. Rachel founded Everyone Out to fulfill her passion of seeing more children outside in nature - to see them realise the fun that can be had in nature and to allow more kiwi kids the time and freedom to play. Rachel is a self confessed pencil pusher and box ticker, which every great programme needs. She enjoys being on programme too especially going on trips and doing science experiments!
Mina - Kaiako (Teacher)
Mina loves nothing more than being out and about in the mountains for days on end! She is a trained primary teacher and forest school leader as well as having experience in early childhood. Mina loves getting kids out into nature to explore, develop their self-confidence and discover the endless beauty of the natural world. Mina currently works along side Katie on Wednesday at Nature School in Island Bay.
Anne - Holiday Programme Lead Kaiako
Anne has many years of experience teaching and caring for children of all ages and abilities. She loved playing and learning at Playcentre alongside her daughter, Helena (the messy play guru). Anne loves to see kids freely playing and following their own interests. Anne currently lives in sunny Nelson but comes up to Wellington every school holidays to Lead our Holiday Programme in Crofton Downs.
Jodi- Kaiako (Teacher)
Jodi loves to create with tamariki. Her house is full of cardboard boxes and bits and bobs that could be used for creations. A high school art teacher by trade, she has spent the last four years volunteering at Playcentre with her tamariki. One of her favourite places is the rocky Owhiro Bay, searching the rock pools and watching for dolphins.
Fiona - Kaiako (Teacher)
Fiona has joined our Thursday team at Nature School in Crofton Downs. Fiona has a background in teaching geography at high school level and is currently studying to be a counselor. She understands how a sense of wellbeing, both emotional and physical, underpins successful learning. She'll looking forward observing the learning that happens at Everyone Out.
Erin - Kaiako (Teacher)
Erin takes a day away from her classroom teaching role to join the Island Bay team on Wednesdays. Erin has a passion for the outdoors and loves to see how tamariki spark when learning in nature. She has experience working with tamaiki of all ages in the classroom and in the ‘wild’.
Renata - Kaiako (Teacher) Assistant and
Holiday Programme Lead Kaiako
Renata has been a lead educator at our holiday programmes for a few years now and in 2022 starting working at Nature School as a kaiako assistant. She has a background in early childhood teaching, nannying and special education. Renata loves to travel and explore new places. She is a keen forager and can make almost anything from scratch.
Charlotte - Kaiako (Teacher) and Assistant
Charlotte has a background in Art and Design, teaching, play work and as an artist. She loves windy walks, playing and working creatively alongside people - finding the magic that's inside everyone. Charlotte is a great listener and is very in tune with the needs of those around her. Charlotte started in 2022 as an assistant supporting the Tuesday team and in 2023 joined Carys on Fridays as a kaiako.
